Surfing here at the South End of Viewbank Street you’ll be happy to find 2 – 3 different banks, all holding with slightly different conditions. The rocks below give this break its form and shape making fairly consistent given a large ground swell and favourable winds. Being in Western Port you can expect the ride to be at a more friendly pace, less aggressive and a smaller size than what you might find on the Mornington Peninsula beyond Cape Schanck, making it an alternative when those beaches are closing out elsewhere. The break also accommodates a wide variety of skill levels with clean walls both in close for beginners and scaled up versions on the outer reefs. With something for everyone, you could find yourself hanging ten on a long clean wall, given the right conditions and wave selection.
