This stunning and varied trail of some 5 km in length, enjoys water views all the way. Commencing at the Port of Sale, which boasts numerous amenities, the well maintained trail traverses parklands and wetlands, ending at the historic Swing Bridge. It follows the Sale Canal to the Thomson River, which then flows into the Latrobe River.
Diverging off the trail to the boardwalks across the wetlands is well worth the detour.
Picnic Tables, interesting information signage, seats for observation and contemplation are dotted along the way . . .
