Much of the trail is sheltered with numerous amenities and facilities dispersed along the foreshore. Fascinating historical information signage is sited at various intervals providing an insight into the region and the steamers that once provided the life-line to the region.
At Bullock Island one can view The Entrance, an amazing historical and engineering accomplishment that has provided a passage from Bass Strait to the enormous Gippsland Lakes and rivers.
Eastern Beach bestows the surf and beautiful sandy beaches . . .
The village of Lakes Entrance, situate on the lake foreshore – looks across the lake to the sand dune that separates the surf from the lake system. An enormous array of eateries and shopping are available.
The trail is an easy gradient the entire way, consisting of well maintained paved surfaces. The trail, for the most part, is separated from the road . . .
