The southern sector of the trail is on the road, until the harbour precinct, where the formal trail begins. There are numerous amenities to enjoy at the harbour, via the marina boardwalk.
The bike / walking trail, heads northward, hugging the shoreline. Some 650 m north of the harbour a pathway branches off, climbing the escarpment – a small detour to capture the views from ‘Dayman Park‘ is well worth it !!
Continuing northward, the iconic Urangan Pier comes into view. A ride or walk along this extraordinary structure, which is a massive 868 m long, is a must – bestowing beautiful views across to Fraser Island, Woody Island and looking back to shore . . .
Continuing along the trail, the scenery will not disappoint. Much of the trail is sheltered and abounds with numerous amenities and facilities to enjoy along the way. The beach and the alluring waters of Hervey Bay are enticing and accessible from the many access points.
There are numerous entry / exit points – all dependent solely upon your preference.
Viewing the sparkling water through the trees and vegetation that line the shore is fantastic; and the quality of the many, and beautifully landscaped picnic areas which bestow picnic tables, barbecues, public toilets, drinking fountains and seating is absolutely marvellous.
The trail is an easy gradient the entire way, consisting of well maintained paved surfaces. The trail, for the most part, is separated from the road.
