Shoreline and boat fishing at Tuggerah Lake can reap the rewards of the many fish species that are available in the lagoon system. As this is not a tidal waterway, it will be the time of day and season that will affect the success of your catch . . .
Generally the best time to fish is in the early morning or in the late afternoon. Bigger Bream tend to take baits after dark whilst Flathead are quite active under the lights of Toukley and The Entrance bridges at night. Bream and Blackfish tend to be more active late in the afternoon during Winter, whilst it is the early mornings that bring them out during the height of Summer.
There are times when the lagoon system is teeming with Chopper, Tailor and Mullet of all sizes. Summer is the time for Prawns and Blue Swimmer Crabs . . .
