Nestled under the shade of some mature trees, at the entrance to the site entitled ‘Collins Settlement 1803 – the First Official European Settlement in Victoria‘, some picnic tables can be found – a perfect location to sit and take in the mass of information that is available at this historically momentous location.
A walking trail meanders its way along foreshore linking the many stunning sceneries as well as an information centre, lookouts, mountains of historical information, sites of interest, and some pioneer graves. A wander of some 230 m northward, reveals even more information about this intriguing settlement attempt and another small picnic area . . .
