The southern perimeter of the ‘London Bridge Car Park‘, on Portsea’s ‘Back Beach‘, provides access this viewing platform and beach access walkway, as well as to a glider launch platform and another length of pathway that embraces even more views of this stunning surfside location.
This particular viewing platform provides surfers a great opportunity to observe the waves before unpacking their gear and making their way to the beach. A bench seat is just perfect for those who wish to stop and absorb the ocean scene. The beach below provides the contrast of the wild surf of the open ocean against the tranquility of the rock pools that surround ‘London Bridge‘ – and all within a few metres of each other. Low tide is perfect to explore the stunning rock pools and micro environments. For the energetic – why not walk the beach to the Portsea Surf Life Saving Club – in the Summer months the patrolled beach there is perfect for a refreshing frolic in the waves.
There is just so much to do and enjoy here – make sure you allow plenty of time !!!
