Arriving at the first car park atop the hill at Portsea ‘Back Beach‘ on the Mornington Peninsula, the views are breathtaking !!! Situate only some 47.6 m above sea level, this carpark delivers a 360° panorama creating the most enormous views across Bass Strait and Port Phillip Bay – all the way to Melbourne in the distance . . .
This car park provides in excess of 85 car parking bays – most of which enjoy the stunning views without even having to hop out of the car !!
A short 30 m walk will reveal a lookout, again with outstanding views of the coastline and of the surf below. Another pathway provides beach access via the Portsea Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC). Once at beach level, ‘London Bridge‘ lies just 1.5 km to the east, and ‘Sorrento Back Beach’ 2.5 km to the east.
No matter what the weather, there is so much to see, experience and do – so enjoy !!!
