Situate approximately 33 m above sea level, the ‘Middle Car Park’ at Portsea’s ‘Back Beach‘ on the Mornington Peninsula, provides the most direct access, via a long ramp, to the beach and Portsea Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) below. The views across the surf from this car park are breathtaking – in fact, many of the car parking bays lie directly on the edge meaning one can enjoy the magnificent panoramas without even having to exit the car !!!
Two viewing platforms are located at either end of the car parking area, as well as toilets, outdoor showers, interesting information boards, bench seats, and pathways linking the other four other car parks that service this surf beach precinct.
‘Portsea Back Beach’ is stunning featuring sand dunes, cliffs, sandy beaches and rock pools. During the Summer months swimmers can feel safe whilst within the patrolled area of the beach. Surfers, jet skiiers, board riders, and body boarders are seen enjoying the waves all year round . . .
There are in excess of 75 car parking bays at this location.
No matter what the weather, there is so much to see, experience and do – so enjoy !!!
