The main beach in Portarlington in Victoria, bestows an expanse of sandy beaches stretching some 2 km to the westward from the Portarlington Pier to the Boat Ramp at the ‘Portarlington Recreation Reserve‘. Picnic tables are along dispersed along the entire length of this foreshore capitalising on the stunning views across to the You Yangs, Melbourne, and the bayside suburbs of Melbourne . . .
Heading east, just beyond the Safe Harbour and Marina, there are numerous sheltered coves accessible directly from The Esplanade, which also capitalise on the magnificent aspect of these north facing beaches.
Refreshments can be found on the waterfront or just a short walk up the hill to the main shopping precinct of Portarlington.
The relatively safe waters of Port Phillip Bay make for perfect conditions for swimming and all manner of water sporting pursuits.
