Marinas and jetties line the foreshore of McMillan Strait at Paynesville in Victoria – all the way from boat ramp, to the southern tip of the strait.
McMillan Strait is the stretch of water that separates Raymond Island from Paynesville. It also forms a link between Lake Victoria and Lake King. These are two of the larger lakes that form the expansive Gippsland lakes and river system, covering some 400 sq km !!! This massive inland waterway is extraordinary for those who enjoy all manner of boating activities.
The township of Paynesville is designed to cater for boating enthusiasts, providing numerous jetties to which to moor the boat, whilst taking a wander to the village, which sits right on the water’s edge. Supplies, a ‘cuppa’, a spot of shopping, a picnic, or a wonderful meal are all close at hand.
Literally kilometres of jetties and marinas are available to house boats of all shapes and sizes . . .
