Heading south from the ‘Harry Clues Memorial Park‘ situate on the banks of the Tambo River in Johnsonville, Victoria, runs a well maintained gravel road that hugs the banks of the river until the ingress into Lake King is revealed.
Lake King is one of the large lakes that join together to form the enormous Gippsland lakes and river system. The Tambo River is one of the five major rivers the feed the lakes . . .
The trip is approximately a 4 km return trip – perfect to walk, ride or drive. There are many spots to access the river along the way – perfect, quiet fishing spots to try your luck at catching some Bream – for which the river is renowned. Apparently the most successful fishing is amongst the snags . . .
