Historic Drysdale railway station is situated next to Lake Lorne in the township of Drysdale. It was first opened on the 21st May 1879; and operated until 6th November 1976.
Facilities included a 60 m (200 ft) passenger platform, a 45 m (150 ft) loading platform, a barrel roof goods shed, a van goods shed, a 2-tonne hand crane, an 18-ton cart weighbridge, a telegraph office and tea stall. The station hosted passenger and goods services until 1931 when the regular passenger service ceased. . .
From that point on, passenger excursion trains ran on Sundays during the Summer months – until 1976.
Today’s tourist operations from Queenscliff to Drysdale commenced in 1979 and remain very popular . . .
