East Bellarine was once a thriving little village. From the 1850’s, the township grew housing its own: Post Office, Bakery, Blacksmith, School (No. 231), ‘Willey’s Pub‘, Cobb & Co. Station, Church and community.
The only evidence that remains today, is the rebuilt ‘Avondale Farm’ . . .
The ‘East Bellarine Christ Church’ which was of an Anglican / Church of England denomination, and was located directly opposite ‘Willey’s Pub’ on Church Road.
The church was also referred to as St Paul’s Anglican Church.
The church building was relocated to 10-12 Dudley Parade, St Leonards, where it still stands and operates from today . . .
