Atop a groin which stretches into the sea, a walkway and viewing platform provide tremendous views of Hervey Bay – stretching all the way from Point Vernon to the west, to, the magnificent Urangan Pier and Fraser Island, to the east.
As well as the views, there is a tall landing platform for the magnificent Osprey that frequent the area. Watching them glide, seemingly effortlessly, through the air – pluck a fish from the water – splash and play in the shallows – is truly a treasured memory.
What a great spot to pause whilst touring the Hervey Bay Esplanade Trail. It can also provide an opportunity to gain an appreciation as to how far you have travelled along the trail, and, the distance still before you . . .
‘Osprey Viewing Platform’ Facilities include: Public Toilets, Sheltered Picnic Tables & Barbecues, open-air Picnic Tables, beach access, and rubbish bins.
