Located on the northern edge of the public sports and reserve area of the delightful rural township of Mundubbera in Queensland, is a very interesting and informative pavilion, documenting Mundubbera and its families since conception of the township. Opened on the 24th March 2012, the ‘Centenary Memorial Gardens’ celebrate not only the 100th year anniversary of the township, but also the settlement of the area when:
” . . . Mundubbera, allocated by Thomas Archer to his friend E. Pleydell Bouverie in 1848, was sold to Peyton and Netterfield ; who resold to Rutledge and Knox (later Know and McCord) ; who worked it with Coonambula which they had also bought so that it lost it identity . . . “

The creativity of the terracotta tiles are quick to view and comprehend by the sightseer, whilst the story of the many flood events that the town has endured, are quite shocking.
‘Centenary Memorial Gardens’ facilities include: sheltered picnic tables & barbecue, information, and memorials. Public toilets are situate some 230 m away, in a southward direction, along Bauer Street.
