The stunning ‘McConnell Lookout & Park‘ features an amazing panoramic backdrop with which to enjoy a picnic. Note that much of Mount Debatable Road is gravel. Renay Robinson Road is sealed, however, very narrow and steep (12% gradient).
The journey is beautiful, and once at the summit, the views – breathtaking. A number of sheltered picnic tables are perfectly positioned to maximise the views, whilst still providing shelter. A fire pit is also nearby for that authentic Australian barbecue.
Ample car parking is available just a short walk away.
An excerpt from the monument dedicated to the Park reads:
“McConnell Park
This park was officially opened
on the
4th November 2000
by Mr Bob Marshan,
Director – General of the
Department of Employment, Training
& Industrial Relations”
‘McConnell Lookout’ Facilities include: Public Toilets, sheltered Picnic Tables, a fire pit, rubbish bins, car park, and information.
