Approaching Gayndah, the ‘Oldest Town in Queensland‘, from an eastward direction, a delightful Rest Area materialises – situate on the northern flank of the Burnett Highway.
Nestled on the banks of the Burnett River, this Rest Area is beautifully maintained with ample parking for large rigs, as well as small. The views of the river are beautiful, however, these is no direct access to the river.
Clean amenities, sheltered picnic tables that overlook the river, open-air picnic tables that are positioned under the beautiful mature trees amidst landscaped garden areas . . .
Add to that, free wi-fi, water, showers, toilets, dump point, and a 20 Hr stay permitted – what a great spot to stop and take a break !!!
Also, the infamous ‘Big Orange Cafe‘ is only a 3 minute walk down the road . . .
